12th January 2017 myferalheart

We’re delighted to announce that ‘My Feral Heart’ has become the UK’s most successful ‘cinema-on-demand’ film of all-time.

Our UK theatrical release was planned in partnership with ‘people-powered’ online platform ourscreen with a planned 10 screenings across the month of November 2016, inspired largely by the achievements of fellow indie-Brit ‘Northern Soul’ with their ourscreen campaign.

‘My Feral Heart’ has now surpassed our guiding light ‘Northern Soul’ (2014) and previous chart-topper ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ (2014).

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank ourscreen for their ground-breaking platform, allowing audiences the opportunity to see films that would not been seen theatrically without distribution or in the mainstream. The people have spoken and you really can’t argue with that!

The initial aim of self-distributing though was to persuade critics to review our film, something vital to the future success of any independent feature. Without being able to schedule the initial 10 ‘potential’ screenings via ourscreen we simply would not have been able to launch a press offensive with any teeth, not on a budget we could afford.

Mark Kermode has been one of the film’s biggest champions and published this video report as part of his ‘Kermode Uncut’ Vlog for the BBC:

David Kapur, co-founder of ourscreen, commented: “We’re thrilled by the success of My Feral Heart. It’s inspiring to see such an independent film accomplish all that it has done on the ourscreen website. It sets an incredible example for other independent filmmakers using ourscreen to release their film, and shows them exactly what’s possible.”

You can visit ourscreen.com/film/my-feral-heart to book tickets to future screenings of My Feral Heart, or create your own ones.

We’d also like to thank everyone involved, from our cast/crew, friends/family, organisations & all of our audiences members.

Thank you all for your incredible support throughout & helping us reach this landmark.

From all the ‘Feral’ team,
